To Unveil Its Range Of Golf Models At The Geneva Motors Show Is Volkswagen
Golf Estate, Volkswagen's newest model is to make its debut at the upcoming Geneva Motors Show scheduled on March 6, 2007. The new Golf Estate will showcase the largest load space provided of any Golf to date. It will also sport new styling designs that will surely make it a hit among customers and tuners who may want to customize it later on using top-of-the-line VW aftermarket parts.
The new Golf Estate's design will feature a distinctive chrome grille section framed by a set of deep front air dams and a redesigned tailgate section to maximize boot space. To round up the look of the Golf Estate is an aerodynamic spoiler mounted on the trailing edge of the rear window and a set of roof rails.
Roomy space for luggage may be accessed through a wide, boot fitted to a low load lip. To enhance practicality the rear seats are folded flat into the floor to display a multipurpose 1550-litre of bootspace that comes complete with multiple load hooks. Likewise, a 12V socket plus stowage located under the boot floor are added along with heating elements that are incorporated in the rear windows.
The latest of the Golf Estate will get its power from a range of advanced engines such as the redefined and economical diesel variants that comes in 1.9-litre TDI 103bhp and 2.0-litre TDI 138bhp engines; the Petrol engines comprising of 1.4-litre TSI 138bhp and 1.6-litre FSI 100bhp variants from the Golf hatchback; and the TSI engine which is mated to either a six-speed manual or quick-shifting DSG gearboxes.
The model will also be equipped with various features such as six airbags, ABS, alloy wheels, radio/CD player, 'Climatic' semi-automatic air conditioning, and a three-year/60,000-mile warranty.
And talking of the Golf hatchback, Volkswagen has just introduced its new wagon version of the hatchback. VW has named the wagon version as Golf Variant which is derived from the previous generation models of the Golf Estate.
About 36cm of dimension was added to the Golf Variant over the regular Golf while the Variant offers up to 690L of storage space plus accommodating five passengers on board. And with rear seats folded the Variant offers a storage space of 1550L.
It (Golf Variant) is equipped with exterior features which include new tail lamps that swaddle around the corners of the rear fenders and of the tail gate. The Variant is going to be offered with the two gasoline and two diesel engines options such as the 1.4L 140 hp (103kW) 'Twincharger' TFSI model. The diesel engines rev up 195hp or 775kW and 140hp or 103kW with mileage rates of 5.2L/km and 5.6L/km respectively.
Making its debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show together with the other Golf range is the Golf Variant.. Moreover, the Variant is scheduled to hit dealerships by mid this year.
